“The Gallery Space” opens its doors in Barcelona

Barcelona is one of the best cities to enjoy Easter and soak up the early spring sunshine, visiting the city’s main tourist attractions, tasting local dishes and taking part in processions and religious and cultural activities.

Barcelona is the perfect place for those looking to combine culture and fun, and visitors will find a wide range of activities to enjoy as a family or with friends. In addition, this year Easter coincides with one of the most important days in the Catalan calendar, the day of "Sant Jordi", when all the streets of the city come alive with roses, books and bright spring colours. Tradition dictates that men have to give ladies a rose, and ladies in turn have to give men a book.
All the inhabitants of Barcelona take to the streets to stroll around the stalls selling books and roses (we would recommend visiting the Paseo de Gracia and Rambla Catalunya).

The following are the main religious and cultural activities programmed for easter:

Thursday Traditional pilgrimage to seven local churches.

Good Friday. Two processions are usually held:

• The procession of Nuestra Señora de las Angustias, which leaves Sant Jaume church at around 6.30 pm and proceeds round the Gothic District, returning to the church at around 11 pm.

• The procession of Nuestro Padre Jesús del Gran Poder and María Santísima de la Esperanza Macarena. This sets off from Sant Agustí church in the Raval and winds round this neighbourhood and the Gothic District.

Easter Saturday: Day of Sant Jordi

Also on 23 June, the nights of music change the day, and on Wednesday the day of the festival of San Juan will have a group of "Jazz and Bossanova" that will encourage all accompanied evening very refreshing and a menu of traditional coca and champagne to welcome the summer.

La Terraza del Gallery opened the summer’s season on May 14 offering to all its customers a dinner cocktail on the terrace and a free tasting of the world’s most prestigious gins. Surely fans of this drink were able to appreciate the flower of green grapes of the G-Vine, spices, herbs and flowers from the Greenall’s London Dry Gin, citrus and grapefruit aromas, chamomile and honeysuckle Greenall’s Bloom, the olive Arbequina, thyme, basil and rosemary Mare Gin and juniper, coriander, cucumber and citrus skins Bulgarian Rose of Hendrick’s. It was a great evening where all the attendees discovered the world of gin.

During these days authors like the winner of this year, the Scot, Ian Rankin; John Connolly, the Irishman famous for his detective stories; Arnladur Indridason, from Iceland, part of the Scandinavian crime novel phenomenon; Camilla Läckberg, from Sweden, with her latest novel "Daughters of the cold" and Asa Larsson, Swedish author of "Aurora Borealis.". in addition, during the week, the menus in the “Café del Gallery” Restaurant plunged into the thriller and mafia world with dishes such as Carpaccio di Pesce Rosso Luca Brasi, Pesce rosso "La Camorra" or Pesce’s "excellent starting omocidio."

Gallery Hotel celebrates the opening of Rosellón Street

To celebrate the opening of Rosellón Street, after nearly two years of public works, we celebrated with all shops in the area, neighbours and Hotel guests that the street was opened to the public. A stand was placed in front of the entrance door on the street, and invited everyone to a glass of champagne and nuts, with popcorn and balloons for children. It was a big party. 1300 champagne glasses were served, with the collaboration of Freixenet and Grupo Cano who gave us 40Kg of chestnuts. At the end of the party a toast was made to the new Rosellón Street.
